“It’s too cold out… I’ll just eat like crap tonight, and will begin eating better tomorrow…Didn’t eat well yesterday, and feeling too bloated to work out today…I’m too stressed…”
Can you relate to any of these? I could probably go on for another paragraph or so with excuses that have kept me from being healthy as well. I wrestle with these every day.
But at the end of the day, they’re just that-excuses!
But maybe your reason is truly valid for not being healthy…Maybe you’re really under stress. Maybe it’s really cold out.
Again, the excuses amount to a pile of ________. If you want to be healthy, there are NO excuses preventing you from doing it.
An example I can think of during one of the worst winters here in North America
My friend Maria Emmerich from Maria Mind Body Health-6:00 am, 33 degrees below zero (farenheight), out for her morning jog. She could have used the ‘too cold’ excuse, too slushy, didn’t feel like it, and I’m sure a million other excuses.
But Maria did it, as she does most mornings during the week.
I know, we can also look at her, and say “well, she’s different than me-she’s one of those ‘fit’ people-different than me”. But Maria was once quite overweight as well-she struggles like everyone else.
She’s a wife, mother of two, and runs a full-time business. She shares the same fears & obstacles as everyone else. She’s not a superhero- but someone who’s accepted many excuses in the past, but accepts far fewer excuses than what she used to.
She can relate to most every struggle you and I have ever had.
Our lives are such a gift-every morning, we’re given a brand-new set of tools with which to change our lives.
